Novak served as General Contractor for this new 3-story, 25-unit senior living, affordable housing project. Financed through federal tax credits administrated by the Illinois Housing Development Authority, the facility incorporates a mix of one and two bedroom units. This wood frame building is clad with a combination of masonry veneer and fiber-cement siding. The first floor amenities include a library, computer room, laundry and community center. The facility achieved Energy Star Certification, featuring high-efficiency heating, cooling and ventilation systems, comprehensive water management systems, high-performing thermal windows and energy efficient lighting and appliances. The 1.15 acre site contains 36 parking spaces and on-site stormwater detention. A natural wetlands buffer and generous landscaping provide for an environmentally friendly setting.
