Novak Construction is currently working in multiple states (CA, IN, KS, PA, VA) as part of Walmart’s Symbotic program. These projects involve installing new infrastructure for automated retrieval and storage racking (ASRS) in phases to keep the distribution center fully operational. Each phase takes approximately 13 months to complete, turning each job into a multi-phased, multi-year endeavor. In addition, electrical, fire protection, concrete, and mechanical upgrades are being made throughout the warehouse to accommodate the new ASRS. Adding the ASRS enables the warehouse to increase efficiency by providing faster responsiveness and greater accuracy to orders. Material handling also becomes safer and simpler with the technology.
