Novak Construction served as General Contractor for the ground-up construction of Macy’s in Bolingbrook, Illinois, the first newly built Macy’s department store in the state. In addition to this flagship project, Novak completed numerous multi-phased renovations for Macy’s locations, successfully executing upgrades while stores remained fully operational. These projects involved the reconfiguration, relocation, and modernization of departments, including the installation of new restrooms, drywall partitions, cove and acoustical ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, lighting, and upgraded MEP systems. Notable enhancements at the Vernon Hills location included two custom brass-and-glass elevators, a new hair salon, and extensive flooring improvements. Throughout each renovation, temporary partitions were strategically installed to separate construction activities from shoppers, ensuring a safe and seamless customer experience.
