Novak Construction served as the general contractor for a 330,000+ square-foot expansion of an existing meat processing facility in Morris, Illinois. The project included approximately 20,000 square feet of office space and more than 100,000 square feet of temperature-controlled cooler and processing areas designed to support large-scale meat production operations.
The expansion involved the installation of over 100,000 linear feet of overhead process piping, including plumbing, refrigeration, and ammonia systems critical to plant operations. In addition, more than 4,000 linear feet of cable tray infrastructure was installed to support high-voltage power distribution, low-voltage communications, and specialized equipment connections throughout the facility.
The project also included the installation of advanced industrial meat processing and brining equipment, as well as a robotic packaging system designed to streamline operations, improve productivity, and enhance overall manufacturing efficiency. The completed expansion provides the facility with significant additional processing capacity while supporting modern food production standards and long-term operational growth.
