Novak Delivers Largest Target Location in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area

Novak Construction, the General Contractor for the new Target store in University City, Missouri, delivering the largest Target location in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Opening its doors on May 17, this 149,000-square-foot store represents Target’s continued investment in creating convenient, community-focused shopping experiences while expanding its footprint across Missouri. Designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s consumer, the store offers a full suite of omnichannel services, including Drive Up, Order Pickup, Target Circle 360 same-day delivery, and next-day delivery throughout the St. Louis region. The location also features an Apple at Target, CVS Pharmacy, and Starbucks Café, providing guests with a comprehensive retail experience under one roof. A feature of the project is a custom mural created by local artist Jayvn Solomon, celebrating University City’s rich cultural identity through illustrations of neighborhood landmarks, music, and community heritage. The artwork reinforces Target’s commitment to reflecting and supporting the communities it serves.

The new University City store is Target’s 38th location in Missouri and is expected to employ more than 170 team members, further strengthening Target’s presence in the region and supporting continued economic growth. The project reflects Novak Construction’s extensive experience delivering large-scale retail environments for some of the nation’s most recognized brands and underscores the company’s commitment to building spaces that enhance both the customer experience and the communities they serve.
