New Whole Foods Market in Madison Yards

Novak Construction Company completed construction on a new Whole Foods Market in Madison Yards, a development from Smith | Gilbane. The new 50,000-square-foot store, located at 4710 Madison Yards Way, Madison, Wisconsin, officially opened on December 13, 2023. For this recent collaboration, Whole Foods Market engaged with Novak Construction Company, BRR Architecture, Henderson Engineers, and Johnston Burkholder Associates. Novak provided extensive value-engineering for Whole Foods Market, resulting in a net zero dollar change to the project contract value.

Construction started in May 2023, and the certificate of occupancy was secured early for a smooth turnover to Whole Foods. Over 300 floor penetrations were run through the existing structural deck, with MEP piping suspended from the deck in the underground parking garage. Custom wall finishes including high-end tile and reclaimed wood wall cladding enhance the customer shopping experience. Novak coordinated extensively with the developer to maintain access and staging while development work was ongoing, including completion of a public plaza and an adjacent luxury high-rise.

Novak Construction Company has worked on over 100 Whole Foods projects in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, and we proudly secured four upcoming projects in Florida and Illinois for 2024! Congratulations to the Whole Foods Market team!
