Pearl Street Commons is a ground-up, three-story affordable housing apartment complex in downtown McHenry, Illinois. It provides 25 units targeted for veterans and persons with disabilities. Amenities include a library, computer lab, community center, laundry room and outdoor recreation areas.
Novak worked with Full Circle Communities, a Chicago-based non-profit developer on this project as well as Creekview Apartments located in Richmond, Illinois. Both projects received ENERGY STAR Certifications. ENERGY STAR certified homes are at least 10-20% more efficient than homes strictly built to code.
