This position will contribute to the processing of invoice payments in a manner consistent with fulfilling the responsibilities defined below in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. A general knowledge of accounting and understanding of the general ledger accounts and job cost codes, and how they relate to invoices, is essential. This individual must exercise sound judgment at all times and exhibit an unwavering attention to detail/accuracy, enthusiasm and a focus on the accounting activities. The Accounting Associate reports to the Controller.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Match invoices to receiving documents;
  • Code, post and process invoices into system;
  • Generate accounts payable and checks;
  • Process check requests, ensuring all appropriate approvals have been obtained;
  • Research vendor statements, phone inquiries or payment discrepancies, and work with Controller to resolve;
  • Organize and maintain files for paid and unpaid invoices and statements;
  • Perform accounts analysis and make adjustments to accounts, as necessary;
  • Maintain physical and electronic files;
  • Interface with accounting staff and internal team members, as necessary; and,

Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum Associate’s degree in Accounting from two-year college or technical school OR 5+ years related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Strong mathematical, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills;
  • Anticipate and resolve issues/problems on a proactive basis;
  • Aptitude to be detail-oriented, yet flexible, in a dynamic environment with changing priorities;
  • Possess excellent collaborative skills to work in partnership with the departments;
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic with the highest degree of honesty and integrity;
  • Highly skilled with MS Office software, particularly Excel, and knowledge of Timberline strongly preferred; and
  • Prior work experience in a privately-held company will prove beneficial, but not

This will be a full- or part-time position. If full-time, a competitive salary will be offered that is commensurate with the Ideal Candidate’s experience. Benefits package includes Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, 401(k) with match of half and paid holidays/time off.
